  • 1 medium sweet potato or yam, chopped
  • 1 cup of oatmeal
  • olive oil
  • honey
  • Sprigs of thyme

Directions

1. Blanch the marrowbones by placing them in a saucepan, covering them with cold water and bringing them to a boil. Take it off the stove.

2. Put the pot in the sink and run cold water over the bones until it cools down. With your thumb, push the marrow out of the center of the bones and dice. Put aside.

3. Place a lightly salted pot of water on high heat and preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Add green beans and simmer until very soft (or a little less if your pooch likes a little more crunch) for about five minutes. Put aside.

4. Place the sweet potato or yam pieces in the same water and simmer until tender but not mushy.

5. Place the pieces on a rack to air dry for about 10 minutes. Once dry, place the pieces on a baking sheet, sprinkle with oats, drizzle with a little honey and olive oil and add a few sprigs of thyme.

6. Roast for 25 minutes, until the potato or yam starts to caramelize around the edges. Remove the thyme sprigs and set aside.

7. To serve, place a few spoons of the oat and sweet potato (or yam) mixture on a plate and top with green beans and marrow cubes. To garnish, pinch the thyme leaves from the branches; They will dry and easily fall off the stems.

This is enough for two to four meals, depending on your dog’s size and appetite.
