Name and age of the dog: Amos, 8 years
Nicknames: Ame or goal
Adoption history: We noticed Amos in the local humane society. At the time, Amos was basically skin and bones, weighed about 65 pounds, and had reportedly been severely abused.
We fell in love with him and after a few months of love and care he has grown into a 110 pound juggernaut who is very gentle and loving. His favorite pastimes are tug of war and long walks with us.
Despite the total darkness in the room, when he is cold he scratches back the ceiling and finds his way underneath to go back to sleep. Since I work from home, Amos is exceptionally good at being my alarm clock. At some point during the day he comes into my office, sits down and stares at me. The message is clear – it’s time for our walk. I always try to sign him and have never regretted those moments.
