Two countries are working together to help stray dogs

Since 2011, SOAR – Segunda Chansa (“Second Chance”) Oregon Animal Rescue – in Loreto, Baja California Sur, Mexico, has been working with animal shelters in Portland, Oregon to expand the adoption options for abandoned dogs in the Loreto area.

So far, they have sent 248 dogs from Loreto to Portland, where they have all been successfully adopted.

Her partners in Loreto are Segunda Chansa, a private dog rescue, and Animalandia, a spay and neuter clinic.

Together with their partners in Mexico, their protection partners in Portland Oregon are Friends of Shelter Animals, the Pixie Project, Family Dogs New Life and, with transportation assistance, Rescue Express from Eugene, Oregon and Alaska Airlines
