Vet Ranch is a place where homeless animals are cured of treatable injuries or illnesses that would otherwise lead to their euthanasia. Matt Carriker’s idea, DVM, is solidly positioned at the intersection of technology and old-fashioned compassion in action. The young veterinarian (class of ’08) films the animals he and his staff help – from delivery to their treatment, to their full health and readiness for adoption – and then publishes the videos on YouTube. Both heartbreaking and heartwarming, the videos add a face to rescue – and a wagging tail. Vet Ranch is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. All donations go directly to the cost of treating endangered animals.
